Kestrel - Gheppio (Falco tinnunculus)

Villa la Quiete  is my workplace since 2017. It is a large historical building on the north-western outskirts of Florence.
Due to the proximity of the countryside, it is possible to observe different species of wild animals. In particular, a pair of nesting kestrels should be noted. Last summer the couple brought two nestlings to become adults.

Now I suppose they have a new brood, because of their behavior.

Birdwatching on the Arno river in Florence

In a sunny sunday morning late in autumn, with the mobility restrictions due to the pandemic "red area" classification oh Tuscany Region, the Arno river is a good resource for wild river life. From the banks of the Arno in Florence

During the lockdown it is very lucky to be able to observe birds in the city. The banks of the Arno are home to a truly varied and sometimes spectacular bird life. The Great Backyard Bird Count 2021 , organized by E Bird , was held from 12 to 15 February and I participated from the sidewalk of the Lungarno.
