my equipment

I am very fond of the Nikon brand, because it is the material that I have used since I was able to afford to buy a digital SLR camera.
I started with a D80 12 years ago. A light machine, very flexible ... really fun. I raised the bar 4 years ago with the D500, which is a Ferrari! Fast and accurate.
As lenses I mainly use a Nikkor 70 - 300 zoom, 8 years, a rather short focal length for the genre, it would take at least a 500, but I will equip myself in the future.
I had old binoculars that my wife gave me when we were young boyfriends. I was in love with it, but last winter broke irreparably, so I had to buy a new one, always Nikon, Aculon A211 10-22x50.

Birdwatching on the Arno river in Florence

In a sunny sunday morning late in autumn, with the mobility restrictions due to the pandemic "red area" classification oh Tuscany Region, the Arno river is a good resource for wild river life. From the banks of the Arno in Florence

During the lockdown it is very lucky to be able to observe birds in the city. The banks of the Arno are home to a truly varied and sometimes spectacular bird life. The Great Backyard Bird Count 2021 , organized by E Bird , was held from 12 to 15 February and I participated from the sidewalk of the Lungarno. Garganeys are back again - Sono tornate le marzaiole

It is impossible to travel these days, due to the restrictions ( red zone ) for the pandemic. However, living near the River Arno has its advantages. In these days three Garganeys have arrived on the Arno. The pictures are taken a bit from a distance. They are a little late compared to the reports of other areas close to here, for example, at the Parco della Piana di Sesto . The Italian name Marzaiola , in fact, means " who arrives in March ".
